Real Oppression of Transgender People

There is real oppression of transgender people, oppression that I and all good people condemn and denounce. I am speaking of homicides such as the ones that occurred in 2023 and 2024 listed here, when the motive is hatred of a person because they are transgender. I am also speaking of discrimination against transgender people just because they are transgender, such as this example of an employer doing just that. Transgender people deserve all the respect and dignity and civil and human rights that everybody else deserves. We should all do whatever it takes to end the real oppression of transgender people.
At the same time, I have written here and here about how the ruling class has seized on the fact of there being transgender people to pit the have-nots against each other by telling us that some things are wrongful oppression of transgender people when in fact they are not really so.
For example, the ruling class tells us that it is oppressive of transgender people to deny a male who identifies as female the 'right' to use public women-only shower and locker room facilities, or to compete against women in physical sports. And the ruling class tells us that it is oppressive of transgender people to make it illegal for health workers to administer life-altering (including sterilizing) puberty blockers to 13 year old children or for surgeons to remove both the breasts (double mastectomy) of 15 year old girls whenever a child says they want this procedure or surgery. The separation of males and females where this has always been the norm, and the long understood, as commonsense, idea that children should not be able to require health professionals to administer life-altering drugs and surgery to them just because they want it: these ideas are not oppressive ideas even if some liberal politicians and organizations say they are; they are good commonsense ideas.
The ruling class divides us--the have-nots--against each other by fomenting a big public debate in which liberals are wrongly told that these commonsense ideas are oppressive and that those who agree with them are horrible transphobic bigots. And yes, there are lots of people who do agree with these commonsense ideas.
The last thing transgender people need is for lots of people to wrongly believe that there is no real oppression of transgender people because they know that what is called oppression of transgender people--the commonsense ideas--is not really so. This is one reason to refute the false ruling class claims. The other reason is to prevent the ruling class from turning good people against each other with this issue.
