Hi my 60 Brighton CVS-ville neighbors,*
Our new organization to remove the rich from power to have real, not fake, democracy with no rich and no poor meets this Sunday, Nov. 9, at 1:30 PM at the Mirror Cafe (corner of Washington St. and Chestnut Hill Ave/Market St. at the Reservoir-bound 86 bus stop). You and your friends, regardless of where they live**, who support our goal are invited to join us. This is the organization's second meeting.
At the meeting I will propose the following agenda:
-
Introduce ourselves
-
Decide if we will make decisions by simple majority vote after paying attention to all opinions. (I suggest making decisions this way.)
-
Decide to accept or modify this agenda.
-
Discuss, preliminary to eventually deciding, if the fundamental aim of our organization is to shape all of society by egalitarian values and principles as summarized here. (I very much hope we will declare this to be our fundamental aim because I believe that having this explicit aim is necessary in order for people to remove the rich from power to have real, not fake, democracy with no rich and no poor.)
-
Discuss, preliminary to eventually deciding, what the name of our organization will be. (I have thought of some possible names that I put online here. If you send me your suggestions I will add them to this online list.)
-
Discuss ideas for what our organization should do next.
-
Decide the where and when of our next meeting. (Monthly on Sunday afternoon at the Mirror Cafe was what the first meeting decided. Unless we decide otherwise we'll meet Sunday December 7 at 1:30 PM at the Mirror Cafe.)
-
Other topics people may suggest
-
Adjourn
All the best,
--John

When our new organization grows larger I envision its members who do not live or work in Brighton to form similar organizations where they do live or work. In the meantime our new organization needs their help and they need our help to get started.

Hi my 62 Brighton CVS-ville neighbors,*
My (free to read and subscribe to) Substack today is titled, "My Egalitarian Take on Yesterday's U.S. Election Results: The results indicate that people want an egalitarian revolution, but see nobody expressing that aspiration so they vote for the best game in town."
Reminder: Our new organization (for removing the rich from power to have real, not fake, democracy with no rich and no poor) is having its second meeting this Sunday, Nov. 9., at 1:30 PM at the Mirror Cafe (at Washington St. and Chestnut Hill Ave./Market St. at the Reservoir-bound 86 bus stop). You and your friends (no matter where they live**) who also support the organization's goal are invited to join us Sunday. My earlier emails relating to the organization are online here.
All the best,

Hi my 65 Brighton CVS-ville neighbors*,
My (free to read and subscribe to) Substack post today shows a photo of a great sign somebody put up on the corner of Washington St. and Chestnut Hill Ave (right where the Mirror Cafe is, in which our new organization is meeting this Sunday at 1:30 PM.)
Also in my Substack post is the following about our new organization:
There’s a New Game in Town!
Some people in my neighborhood of Brighton, Massachusetts recently formed a new organization aimed explicitly for the goal of removing the rich from power to have real, not fake, democracy with no rich and no poor.
As this organization grows, and others like it form elsewhere, the have-nots will be able to break free from the ruling class traps and mis-leaders that have kept us on the treadmill of defeat with leaders and political parties that avoid like the plague even hinting at the egalitarian revolutionary goal that the vast majority of people want to win.
This new organization aims to get the ball rolling so one day—no matter how far in the future it may be—people will have built the explicitly egalitarian revolutionary movement so large (international) and so determined (using militancy such as a general strike) that it will be possible to actually remove the rich from power to have real, not fake, democracy with no rich and no poor as discussed here.
When the new organization meets (its second meeting is Sunday, November 9) it is essentially Brighton’s local assembly of egalitarians, a local assembly that one day will enjoy the participation of thousands of Brighton egalitarians and will be the sovereign power in Brighton. In the meantime it will do things to build the egalitarian revolutionary movement: make its aims crystal clear and make its existence widely known.
I look forward to seeing some of you and friends who agree with us that you may invite this Sunday at the Mirror Cafe at 1:30 PM. I put a link at the top of my PDRBoston.org website about our new organization and my proposed agenda for our Sunday meeting. If you plan to attend the meeting please take a look at this agenda and the "Egalitarian Values & Principles Summary" it links to, and the suggested possible names for our organization it links to.
All the best,

Hi my 66 Brighton CVS-ville neighbors*,
OK, I admit it; this is mainly a reminder that our new organization meets tomorrow at 1:30 PM at the Mirror Cafe (corner of Washington St. and Chestnut Hlll Ave./Market St.) and to say that I hope you and your friends (no matter where they live) who also agree with the sticker will join us.
Item #6 on the agenda I will propose reads: "Discuss ideas for what our organization should do next."
I'm going to suggest the following concrete idea and some additional general ideas.
The concrete idea is that each of us show the sticker to a few friends and do this:
a) ask them if they think what it says ("Let's remove the rich from power; have real, not fake, democracy with no rich and no poor") is a good idea or a bad idea (not whether it is possible or not, which is an entirely different question.)
b) If the friend says it's a good idea--i.e., that they would be happy, not sad, if it actually happened even if they think that is unlikely--then tell them there is a new organization in Brighton aimed at this very goal, and ask them if they'd like to join it (even if they don't live in Brighton) or at least receive emails about it and if so,
c) get their email address and send it to me so they will join the (now) 66 of us, and learn about the next meeting of the new organization and so forth.
This is how we can grow our new organization!
My general ideas about what we can do as an organization include these;
1. Do things to let people learn they are not alone in wanting the egalitarian revolutionary goal on the sticker.
2. Do things to let people see that when currently censored truths about the divisive "social issues" are made known then it no longer remains the case that each half of the population views the other half as its enemy, and instead the great majority of the have-nots come to be in agreement in their opposition to the ruling billionaire class.
3. Do things to help people stand up to the arguments that our rulers use to make us grudgingly accept things they do that oppress us. This means explicitly rejecting the premise on which our rulers' arguments are based--that class inequality (some rich and some poor) is the way things just have to be.
4. Do things to strengthen solidarity of the have-nots, especially locally.
5. Do things to let the general public know that there is a new game in town--our organization aiming to remove the rich from power!
All the best,
--John

Hi my 66 Brighton CVS-ville neighbors*,
As you know, some of us last month met and formed a new organization that aims for what the sticker says: to remove the rich from power to have real, not fake, democracy with no rich and no poor. Today it had its second meeting and made the following decisions:
1. We use the majority-vote decision rule when a consensus cannot be reached.
2. The name of our organization is the Brighton Assembly of Egalitarians (BAE).
3. The BAE aims to shape all of society by the egalitarian values and principles summarized online here.
4. BAE members will show the sticker to several friends (regardless of where they live**) in the next few weeks and ask them if they think the message on the sticker is a good idea or a bad idea (not whether or not it is possible, which is another question altogether); if the person says it is a good idea then tell them there is an organization (the BAE) aiming for that goal and ask them if they'd like to receive emails about it and if they say yes then get their email address to add to the 66 Brighton CVS-ville neighbors.
5. In the next few days we will arrange for a mutually agreeable day and time to display at the CVS the banner with 500 photos of Brightonians each holding a sign that says, "We the People want affordable housing for ALL; to get it we aim to remove the rich from power to have real, not fake, democracy with no rich and no poor."
6. We will explore working together with the mutual aid (not charity!) organization in Watertown that is essentially, though not formally, an assembly of egalitarians.
7. We will discuss in future "on the street" actions to engage in to let people know there's a "new game in town" with an inspiring vision of how our society ought to be: what we are FOR, not just what we are against.
8. We will meet next on Sunday December 7, at 1:30 PM at the Mirror Cafe (362 Washington St.).
I am very happy that this meeting took place!
All the best,
--John
